You can also browse service categories to discover relevant providers.

Tip: Try specific search terms. Searching for “TV Mounting” instead of “Home Services” may help you find more relevant results.

Step 3. Choose Your Location

MyPlaces.us allows you to search for services based on where you need them.

Search by City

Use the In: City location field to enter or select a city.

For example, if you’re looking for a cleaning service in Los Angeles, enter Los Angeles as your search location.

The directory is designed to show services available in your selected area, including businesses located nearby that provide services within their coverage radius.

This means a business doesn’t necessarily need to be located in your city to serve you.

Search Near Your Current Location

You can also use the Near My Location option to search for services around your current position.

If your browser requests permission to access your location, allow it to use this feature.

This is especially useful when you’re traveling or looking for nearby service providers without entering a city manually.

Step 4. Understand Service Coverage Areas

Some businesses provide services only at their own location, while others travel to customers.

Service providers can specify a Service Distance — the area within which they offer their services.

For example:

If you’re searching from a location inside that coverage area, the handyman’s services may appear in your search results, even though the business is based in a different city.

Important: Service Distance indicates the provider’s stated coverage area. Always confirm availability and any travel fees directly with the business.

Depending on the information provided, a Service Card may include:

You can contact the provider using the available contact options on the Service Card.

Depending on the information supplied by the business, you may be able to send a message through the contact form, call the provider, or use other available contact methods.

• Specific requirements for your project
