We’ve updated the URL structure for business and service pages by adding the state before the city.

Previously:

/business/category/city/business-name/

Now:

/business/category/state/city/business-name/

This makes locations much clearer, especially because the same city name can exist in multiple U.S. states.

No action is required from business owners. Old URLs continue to work and automatically redirect visitors to the current page.

We’re also planning a separate cleanup of duplicate city and state records in the MyPlaces location database. That will come later, and we’ll post another update when we start this work.

Another small step toward making MyPlaces.us cleaner and easier to scale across the U.S.
